HBCP Team

Director

Laurie Frasz

Mrs. Frasz has a degree in Early Childhood Education and has been working in the field for 20 years. She has traveled extensively and has been a teacher, a director, a program supervisor, a curriculum writer, served on accreditation teams and lead workshops,seminars and parenting classes in 6 states. She attends McLean Bible Church. She is married to a career Air Force Pilot, has 2 daughters, a son-in-law and 3 precious granddaughters. She enjoys travel, skiing, movies, good restaurants and shopping. Her favorite part of her job is spending time with children in chapel or circle time, creating entertaining programs to present to parents and giving out lots of hugs every day!


Preschool Teachers


Elisabeth Bryson

Mrs. Bryson begins her 4th year and is teaching the Tuesday/Thursday morning and afternoon 3’s classes. She is from North Carolina and attended UNC, majoring in Leisure Studies. She is currently pursuing her teaching credential from ACSI. Mrs. Bryson is married and has 3 children, a dog, a guinea pig, fish and 2 hermit crabs! She attends Manassas St. Thomas United Methodist Church and volunteers with several of their children's programs. She is active in the Grizzlies Cheerleading Squad, too. Elisabeth enjoys crafts, hiking, biking and spending time with her family. She feels that children are such a blessing and have precious smiles!


Betty Jo Goff

Mrs. Goff is in her 5th year at our school and has over 15 years of experience with Preschool and Kindergarten age children. She teaches full time with morning and afternoon PreK. Betty Jo has a Liberal Arts degree from NOVA and has completed her teaching credential through Association of Christian Schools International. She attends church at Haymarket Baptist; she is the Deaf Ministry Coordinator, teaches VBS and is one of the busiest gals around! She adds her gift of signing to the classroom, as the children learn colors, songs, and prayers...in sign and also in Spanish. Mrs. Goff is married and has 2 children, and a great big poodle named Harley!



Mable Hudson

Mrs. Hudson has been teaching at our school for 9 years and has her CDA credential. She attends Haymarket Baptist Church and seems to know just about everyone! She is active in all the activities at church and around town! Her special gift is working with our 2 year old classes. Her gentle and loving ways help these little ones adjust to a new place, make new friends and try many new experiences. She has 1 grown son and her husband's job has allowed her to travel to many parts of the world. She is very patriotic and loves music, especially the classics. Mrs. Hudson also assists and helps in other areas of the school, so even if you don't have a 2 year old, you are sure to meet her around school!


Danielle Lawler

Mrs. Lawler teaches a morning Pre K class and she is beginning her 4th year with us. She has 2 children, which are both alumni to our school. She has a degree in Nursing, and we often call on her to check over any injuries or sicknesses...it's so nice to have a nurse on staff! She is married and attends church here at Haymarket Baptist. In her free time she enjoys collecting antiques, doing home improvements and spending time with family. Mrs. Lawler is also our Young Rembrandt’s Art Instructor for Kindergarten Enrichment classes. Danielle is a sweet and gentle person who will make each child feel loved and welcomed.

Betty McNeil

Mrs. McNeil has been a teacher here at HBCP for 13 years. She teaches morning and afternoon Pre K classes. She has 4 children, who attended our school as well...and now they have moved on to college and high school! Mrs. McNeil is an avid Jazzerciser, and enjoys attending her children’s sporting events. She graduated from Radford University with a degree in Business and has completed her teaching credential through Association of Christian Schools International. The McNeil's attend church at Haymarket Baptist. Betty has enjoyed having the same classroom assistant for all these years, and they make quite a team. She has a very calm and positive atmosphere in her classroom which makes for a great day for all!

Becky Ream

Mrs. Ream, beginning her 3rd year with us, is the teacher MWF afternoon 4 year olds. She is a graduate of Radford University with a degree in Journalism, minor in Child Development. Becky is married with 2 children~ both alumni of our school. She also has a dog and a cat. Her favorite things to do include spending time with her family, scrap booking, sports and bunko. Mrs. Ream has been an active parent in our school, as a sub, an assistant and a classroom helper. She has taught preschool, coached soccer and led Girl Scouts...Becky loves children! She looks forward to their smiles, laughter and their enthusiasm to learn.

Lisa Ritter

Mrs. Ritter returns for her 2nd year, teaching the morning 3 day 4's class. Lisa is married with 2 children, one who graduated from our Kindergarten and one currently attending. She attends Park Valley Church where she teaches Sunday school. Lisa enjoys skiing, snowboarding, reading, and traveling with her family. Mrs. Ritter graduated from the University of Toledo, and also spent a year at the University of Colorado and a year at Marymount. She also does bookkeeping from home. She loves hearing the laughter of children, their unique point of view...and seeing them grow in their faith in Christ.

Shari Stettler

Mrs. Stettler has been at our school for 3 yrs and teaches 2 of our 3 year old classes, both morning and afternoon MWF classes. She has her degree in Math/Statistics and loves incorporating math skills in the classroom. She truly enjoys the 3’s and has an infectious giggle with all the cute things they do! Shari spends her free time with her family, works as the coordinator for the children's ministry at her church, CrossWay Fellowship in Manassas and has home schooled her 3 sons over the past several years.

Jill Waskow

Mrs. Jill Waskow will be teaching in our Pre K program in the afternoon. Jill has a BA from Longwood College as a History major/teaching certification, and also a Masters from George Mason in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. She is married to her college sweetheart and they have 2 children that attend our school. Jill is active at Gateway Bible Church where she teaches Sunday school for K-5th, and attends Bible study. Mrs. Waskow enjoys cooking, exercising and spending time with her family. She loves making children feel welcomed and special in her class.

Tricia Wilkens

Mrs. Wilkens begins her 4th year with us, after teaching for 7 years in Durham, North Carolina at 2 Christian preschools. She teaches 2 classes of 3 years olds and 1 class of afternoon 4's. Mrs. Wilkens has her teaching credential for Early Childhood from the Association of Christian Schools International. She attends Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Tricia creates a warm and positive classroom, promotes friendship among her students, and loves creative art experiences. Her hugs are well known around the school! She is married, has 2 sons and a dog named Duke! She loves spending time at the beach and at her son's sporting events.





Assistant Teachers


Kristine Adams

Mrs. Kristine Adams is assisting in the afternoon Pre K program with Mrs. Waskow. She has a BS in Management and is married, with 2 children…one attending our school. Kristine is active at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she has been a CCD teacher for 4 yrs. Kristine has been an active parent in our school, running our school book fair and doing our entire Scholastic book ordering…and she will continue on, along with assisting. She enjoys children because they are so eager to learn.

Lori Brown

Mrs. Brown has worked at HBCP for 13 years and has been working along side of Mrs. McNeil in the Pre K morning program. She is from Falls Church, VA and attended Bridgewater College. Mrs. Brown is married and has 2 grown children, both in college. She attends church at Gainesville United Methodist. She enjoys shopping, visiting friends and volunteering at Brentsville High School. She loves helping children have special days by making them smile, she runs the morning carpool, and she is a great organizer in the classroom


Jill Christopher

Mrs. Jill Christopher assists Mrs. Hudson in the 2’s classes Tuesday-Friday. She has her Batchelor’s from Radford and her Masters from Virginia Tech. Jill is married with 4 boys, and each has attended our school, all graduates, except the youngest! She attends Haymarket Baptist Church and serves in the church nursery and Sunday school department. Jill enjoys time with her family at the beach or hiking or camping. She loves to see wonder and excitement in a child’s eyes as they learn. She is a sweet and gentle spirit that will make each 2 ½ yr old child feel loved and special.

Colleen Davis

Mrs. Davis returns for her 2nd year, and assists in the afternoon preschool program. Colleen has been an active parent, sub and Bible Study leader at our school. She is married and has two young sons. Colleen attends Centerpointe Church of Fair Oaks where she is active in the toddler/nursery department, meal ministry coordinator and women's ministry leader. She enjoys reading, with a good cup of coffee. Mrs. Davis has a sweet spirit that adores children, and has great organizational abilities, both of these attributes make her an asset to the classroom.

Toni Farthing

Mrs. Toni Farthing assists Mrs. McNeil in the afternoon Pre K class. Toni has a degree in Elementary Education from George Mason University, and taught 1st grade for many years. She attends Centreville Baptist Church and is active with various programs there. Toni is married with 3 children, her youngest is a recent graduate of our 4’s program. She is looking forward to helping children have a wonderful preschool experience, educationally and spiritually at HBCPK.

Joanne Keiser

Mrs. Keiser assists Mrs. Lawler in the PreK classroom each morning and begins her 4th year with us. She has long been associated with our school, as each of her children has been a graduate here. Mrs. Keiser also is our testing coordinator for Kindergarten readiness testing. She and her family attend Holy Trinity Church and she is active in the Mom's Group there. Joanne enjoys gardening, reading and computers. She has taught vacation bible school and computer classes. Joanne loves children's inquiring minds, many questions and smiling faces!

Brenda Leger

Mrs. Leger (pronounced La-zhay) begins her 6th year at our school, part of which was spent lead teaching. She will assist Mrs. Bryson in the Tues/Thurs 3 yr old classes morning and afternoon. She is married and has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Brenda attends church at Grace Church of Gainesville. She loves to sew, helps keep us organized and enjoys every day with the children. Mrs. Leger has been working with children since 1987 and continues to share her love of the Lord with each child.

Suzanne Mason

Mrs. Suzanne Mason will be assisting the preschool department this year. She a graduate of Meredith College, is married with 3 children and 2 labradors! Suzanne attends Park Valley Church were she works in the Preschool Curriculum area, and misssions. She recently returned from a mission trip to Guatemala. Suzanne enjoys photography, reading, and golf. She loves children because they are so excited about everything, and eager to learn.

Robin Massey

Mrs. Robin Massey is moving from 3 years of teaching music classes to our 4 year olds, to assisting Mrs. Goff in the mornings and afternoons with Pre K. She brings a wealth of experience after running her own Gymboree franchise for 9 years. Robin is married and has 3 daughters, one married, one in college and one in high school. She and her family attend Centreville Presbyterian Church. She is looking forward to a new year of exciting and creative experiences with Mrs. Goff!

Cheryl Mateer

Mrs. Mateer returns for her 2nd year assisting Mrs.Stettler with the MWF morning 3’s. She has been an active parent and substitute and her three sons are alumni of our school. Cheryl attends St. Katherine Drexel Church, and she is active at Tyler Elementary, where her children attend. Her hobbies include gardening, anything that involves the outdoors and just being a mom. She enjoys being with the 3's...loves giving out hugs and kisses, helping children adjust to preschool and helping each child have a great day while in her care.

Susan Ring

Mrs. Susan Ring moves from a floater position (assistant for Pee Wee Workout) to an assisting position with Mrs. Wilkens Tues/Thurs 3’s class. Mrs. Ring is married with a son who is a recent graduate from our Kindergarten class and has a dog named Tenshi. Sue has a Business Management Degree, and spent 15 years as a corporate event manager. She enjoys running and spending time with her family. Sue is tenderhearted and compassionate…a perfect fit for loving our precious 3 yr old students.

Sarah Schweitzer

Mrs. Schweitzer assists Mrs. Wilkens in the afternoon 4's class this year. She is from Richmond,Va and graduated from Old Dominion University. Sarah is married with 3 children and is an army wife. She enjoys reading, traveling, music and spending time with family and friends. Sarah attends All Saints Catholic Church. Mrs. Schweitzer loves the enthusiasm, excitement and humor of preschoolers and she loves revisiting the world through a child's eye...seeing dandelions as flowers rather than weeds.

Bobbie Tolson

Mrs. Tolson assists Mrs. Ritter with the morning 3 day 4’s and is in her 2nd year at our school. She is married to Aaron, who is a youth pastor and has 2 children who attend our school. Bobbie enjoys art, mural painting, and leading women's Bible studies. She is a graduate of Southwestern University, with a Bachelors degree in Computer Programming. She is an active member of Old Dominion Baptist Church where she serves on both the toddler and teen ministries. She has worked with nursery age and the 3's and currently co-leads a Mommy and Me Bible Study that incorporates a music class.



Kindergarten Teachers


Pam Benedict

Mrs. Benedict joins our staff this year in Team K. She graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College with a degree in Elementary Education. She has taught with Abeka and Bob Jones curriculum, in Kindergarten and 2nd grade. She is married to her high school sweetheart, and has 3 children. Pam is an active member of Old Dominion Baptist Church as a Sunday school teacher, VBS leader and a mom’s group. She plays the piano, and gives lessons, too! Mrs. Benedict says she loves to see children’s eyes light up when they learn something new!

Ruth Gilbert

Mrs. Gilbert has moved over from Preschool, to teach Kindergarten. After graduating from Houghton College with a BS in Elementary Education she taught kindergarten for 4 years in Northern Virginia before taking time to start a family. Ruth is married with 2 boys, one is an alumni and one is attending our preschool. She is an active member of Centreville Baptist Church where she serves in the children's ministry. Ruth enjoys playing with her family, cooking/baking, scrap booking, reading, emailing/talking to friends. She loves teaching. She especially loves watching children figure things out and the endless hugs.

Suzanne Leake

Mrs. Leake begins her 3rd year of teaching Kindergarten and has been teaching Kindergarten for 14 years in Christian Schools and has served as a substitute in middle and high schools. Her vast experience with the Abeka curriculum will benefit our entire program! Suzanne is married with 4 children and also has a dog, cat and bird at her house! She attends Old Dominion Baptist Church and is involved with Awana and the children's ministry. Suzanne loves reading, gardening and baking. Her favorite subject to teach is reading and doing art projects.



Kindergarten Assistant Teachers


Trish Kyle

Mrs. Kyle is the Tues/Thurs Kindergarten Assistant, and begins her 2nd year with us. Besides assisting, Trish is the coordinator of our annual International Luncheon for Kindergarten. She is married with 2 children, one who graduated from our Kindergarten program. She is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Journalism and Communications. Trish loves photography, scrap booking and her dogs! She has taught preschool, loves working with children, subs for us whenever we need her and is our creative resource for cute bulletin boards and posters!

Tammy Marchand

Mrs. Marchand begins her 4th year at HBCPK and is the MWF assistant in the Kindergarten program. She also is our testing coordinator for all of our standardized testing. She has 2 children who are alumni of our preschool and she has enjoyed being an active parent and substitute in the past. She earned her degree from DePauw University in Political Science, and is a Lutheran. Tammy enjoys golf, running, swimming and being a part of her children's activities. She plays the trombone, the guitar, the piano and baritone! She is in her 4th year at HBCP and loves making a difference in the lives of young children.



Music and Movement Teachers

Suzi Burns

Mrs. Burns opted for a change of pace…from teaching Kindergarten at our school for 2 years, to now teaching 4’s music…and it’s called ‘Suz-i-cal’(like Seussical)…and the children will call her Miss Suzi! Suzi attended Susquehanna University; she has an Education degree and a minor in Music. She toured all over the USA with a singing group called ReCreation. She plays the piano and guitar, and is sure to make music time memorable, educational and a whole lot of fun! Suzi is married and has 3 children and 2 dogs...both Labradors! She attends Gainesville United Methodist Church. Suzi loves cycling, scrap booking, photography, playing the piano and reading. Music class is on Fridays.
Shelly Kozlowski

Mrs. Kozlowski, or “Mrs. K”, has been teaching Pee Wee Workout at HBCP for many years. Pee Wee Workout is a nationally recognized fitness program designed exclusively for preschoolers. The program is designed to enhance coordination, gross and fine motor skills, listening skills and teamwork. Each week, Mrs. K introduces the 4’s classes to the many ways they can keep their bodies happy, healthy and strong. This is accomplished through low impact aerobics, creative movement and songs. Puppet friends such as Exercise Bear and Calcium Cow stop by to visit the students as well. She also teaches Musical Moves to our 3’s. The children are introduced to a variety of instruments, creative movement and rhythm activities. A former preschool teacher, Mrs. K has been working with young children for over 15 years. She is married with two daughters.
Dianne Webber

Mrs. Webber begins her 3rd year as the Kindergarten Music and PE teacher. She has a coaching background in tennis and soccer, plays the keyboard in a band at her church and is involved in the music ministry there as well. Dianne is an avid exercise fan, and brings her energy and enthusiasm to our Kindergarten Program. She assists with school musical programs and runs an exciting Field Day for our Kindergarten classes. Mrs. Webber attends CrossWay Fellowship Church in Manassas, is married with two teenage boys. She is also has a degree in Journalism and assists the office with publications.
Office Assistant

Liz Fricke

Mrs. Fricke is our full time office assistant. She graduated from the University of Richmond majoring in Marketing. She is married with 3 children and also has a dog, cat and a fish in her family! Liz attends Grace Episcopal Church. She loves running, loves to go to the beach and spending time with her family. Liz is the gal to see for all tuition payments, questions and any changing information.
Floaters
Gail Randall and Dawn Doheny provide extra coverage during the day by assisting the teachers with any children that are having a difficult day, assisting the music and movement teachers, serving lunch to Kindergarten students, helping out with Lunch Bunch for Preschool and helping with art projects and school events. They fill in to sub wherever we need!
